[ARCHIVED] Drainage Department - Hard at Work for the City of Bellmead

image000002 (004)

The drainage department is hard at work for the city and its residents. Troubling rainfall earlier this year resulted in water back ups and flooding in many areas. The drainage department has been working tirelessly on preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the City of Bellmead. The month of May in 2024 witnessed fifteen (15) inches of rainfall making it the wettest month in the area for the last few years. This time frame was an all-hands-on deck situation for the Public Works Department as Utilities, Streets, and Drainage came together to help relieve water ways, bring back wastewater services, open and close roads, and provide normal services as possible during this time. Fortunately enough, the City of Bellmead has a drainage department that is dedicated to provide continuous maintenance to help assist in any future rain events by providing preventative, corrective, and reactionary maintenance. Although the department is one of the smallest staffed departments in Public Works, you can find them clearing drainage culverts, busting up dams, clearing brush, and much more around town and whenever needed when severe weather situations arise. We want to take this time to thank the dedicated staff for the hard work they do day-after-day and storm-after-storm. With tons of work that has been done around the City in just the past few months, we know there are plenty of other areas that still need to be addressed. Please submit any concerns to the City of Bellmead through the city website by clicking on the SERVICES tab to submit a concern or by clicking the link below:
