Bellmead has a Sign Ordinance that was enacted to keep things looking good around town. Lately, banners and flags seem to be popping up everywhere!
The City Code classes banners and flags as "Temporary" signs. They can be used for special events like a Grand Opening, a BIG SALE or something unique and out of the ordinary. These signs are NOT considered permanent signs but they can only be up for about 30-days. Also, they can't be in the street right of way, must be set back at least 10' from the property line and can't be on a corner, blocking views and causing a safety hazard. Anyone wanting to put up these types of banners and signs for a TEMPORARY event can absolutely do so. No permits are required for short-term, temporary signs.

However, being they are temporary, if they are out for too long, expect a call, a visit or a letter from Code Enforcement, requesting the banners be removed. Also, any banners in the street right of way (right out by the curb) may be removed.
Let's keep things looking great around our town!
