The City of Bellmead - Streets Department will begin street crack sealing preventative measures starting April 14, 2025.
Crack sealing is an important and cost-effective preventative maintenance component that aids in preventing water from penetrating into the pavement structure or sub-base material and assists in reducing a number of pavement problems which include: crack spreading; formation of voids under pavement; swelling and shrinking of sub-base materials; alligator cracking; potholing; and complete street failure. Routine maintenance such as crack sealing, pothole repairing, street level-ups, and moderate base repairs are conducted throughout the year. These preventative measures are essential before further preservation strategies are applied. The productive crack-sealing work will complement the future micro-surfacing later this year to help the longevity and driving ability of the roadways.
We ask for assistance in having streets cleared of vehicles, trailers, campers, etc. for street crews as they progress throughout the city. Please see the list of roads that are scheduled for crack sealing this spring:
| Bank Dr. | Carla | La Clede (Hatcher to Wheeler) | Walton Dr. |
Bealle (Maxfield to Hogan)
