The City of Bellmead is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim Reed as Director of Public Works, effective January 2026.

Mr. Reed brings more than 46 years of experience in public service, transportation planning, infrastructure development, and project management. His career includes senior leadership roles with the City of Waco and the Texas Department of Transportation, where he oversaw major capital improvement programs, transportation planning initiatives, and intergovernmental coordination across Central Texas.

Mr. Reed expressed a mission-driven desire to join Bellmead and serve a community where meaningful organizational transformation and infrastructure improvements are underway. In his new role, he will oversee Public Works operations and support long-term initiatives related to streets, drainage, mobility, and infrastructure reliability.

Mr. Reed is committed to ensuring that Bellmead’s infrastructure systems support long-term community growth, safety, and economic opportunity. He joined the City of Bellmead in January 2026.
