Bellmead Zoning Ordinance Update

The City of Bellmead is poised to refine its Zoning Ordinance, which has remained unchanged since its inception in 1960. To better accommodate modern urban needs, the updated ordinance will distinctly separate residential, business, and industrial areas, promoting a harmonious urban environment.

Objective of the Zoning Update: The primary goal is to protect residential areas from the impacts of industrial and business operations, thereby preserving property values and community well-being. This zoning revision is key to maintaining the character and tranquility of Bellmead neighborhoods.

Public Hearings Announcement: The Bellmead Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council will hold public hearings to discuss these significant changes. The meetings will take place at Bellmead City Hall, located at 3015 Bellmead Dr., Bellmead, Texas on the following dates:

• Planning and Zoning Commission: May 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM
• City Council: June 11, 2024, at 6:30 PM

Notice to Residents: It's crucial for Bellmead residents to understand that these amendments might affect the current usage rights of properties.  However, the City will NOT require any current uses to stop and nobody will be forced to move. To ensure you are well-informed about how these changes could impact you, attending the public hearings is strongly encouraged.
