The City of Bellmead has updated its online Crime Stoppers Anonymous Tip Form to help residents better understand when and how to use it. Crime Stoppers is an important tool for community safety — but it is not designed for reporting emergencies or crimes that require immediate police response.
When You Should NOT Use the Tip Form
The online form does not dispatch officers and is not monitored 24/7.
If you need police help, please use the proper channels:
- Emergency or crime in progress: Call 9-1-1
- Non-emergency police response: Call (254)799-0251
What the Anonymous Tip Form Is For
The Crime Stoppers form is used only to provide anonymous information that may help Bellmead Police solve crimes after they have already occurred, including:
- Who may have committed a crime
- Location of stolen property
- Illegal drug activity tips
- Information about a wanted person
No personal information is collected — your name, phone, IP address, or email are not visible to police. Anonymous tips allow residents to speak up safely and confidentially.
What’s New on the Page?
To make things clearer for residents, the form now includes:
- A bold warning reminding users not to report active crimes
- A required acknowledgment checkbox
- New fields to help provide more useful details to investigators
These improvements will help ensure tips go to the right place — and that emergencies reach police immediately where help can be provided.
