The City of Bellmead is proud to announce the completion of the Wheeler/LaClede Road Improvement Project, a significant investment in our community’s infrastructure and safety.
This project included the complete reconstruction of the Wheeler/LaClede intersection and extended improvements east along Wheeler Street toward the Maxfield Street intersection. Upgrades included:
- Full pavement reclamation and cement stabilization for a stronger, longer-lasting roadway.
- Fresh asphalt overlay for a smoother and safer driving surface.
- New striping, signage, and traffic control improvements to enhance safety and visibility.
- Reinforced manhole concrete collars for long-term durability.
These improvements were identified as a priority arterial street upgrade in the City’s Thoroughfares Study and funded through the Street Maintenance Fund.
Community Impact:
The upgraded roadway will improve traffic flow, reduce maintenance needs, and provide a safer travel experience for residents, businesses, and visitors. By investing in these upgrades, Bellmead is ensuring its infrastructure can support growth, economic development, and quality of life for years to come.
The City extends its thanks to our residents for their patience during construction and to Knife River Corporation for their work in bringing this project to completion.
