At the April 8 City Council meeting, Mayor James Cleveland proudly presented the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) to Assistant City Manager Karen Evans, in recognition of Bellmead’s excellence in governmental budgeting for the FY 2025 Annual Budget.

This prestigious award represents the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and reflects the City of Bellmead’s commitment to transparency, strategic planning, and responsible financial stewardship. In addition to the core award, the City received special recognition for Performance Measures, a distinction given when all reviewers rate this category with the highest possible scores.

This is the sixth consecutive award the City has earned—all under the leadership of Karen Evans, who joined the City in December 2018. It also marks the second time Bellmead has received special recognition in a scoring category.
