Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)

Our City retirement plan is offered through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Click here for TMRS Member Guide. Employees are required to contribute 7% of their pre-tax earnings to their personal retirement account. After 5 years of employment, you are considered to be vested. Once you are vested, the City will match your contributions on a 2 to 1 basis. You are eligible to receive the match upon retirement, either at any age with 25 years of service, or age 60 with 5 years of service. We encourage employees to register on the TMRS website to view their retirement account, update beneficiaries, and complete retirement projections. Wellness Program

To promote employee health and wellness, the City encourages employees to participate in our Blue Cross Blue Shield wellness program.
