Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)
Our City retirement plan is offered through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). Click here for TMRS Member Guide. Employees are required to contribute 7% of their pre-tax earnings to their personal retirement account. After 5 years of employment, you are considered to be vested. Once you are vested, the City will match your contributions on a 2 to 1 basis. You are eligible to receive the match upon retirement, either at any age with 25 years of service, or age 60 with 5 years of service. We encourage employees to register on the TMRS website to view their retirement account, update beneficiaries, and complete retirement projections.
