Hiring Incentive Agreement
As a prospective City of Bellmead Police Officer, you have the opportunity to benefit from our Hiring Incentive Agreement. This agreement is designed to invest in you and enhance the strength of our Police Department. Here's a summary of the key points:
- Applicants must have a current, valid certification with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (“TCOLE”).
- Applicants must have a minimum of one full year on the job experience and must successfully complete the hiring process.
- Applicants must sign the Hiring Incentive Agreement during the City of Bellmead in-processing.
This incentive will be offered in three stages for qualified applicants.
- $1,500 paid on the first pay period after the applicant is hired by the City of Bellmead and begins duties as a probationary Police Officer.
- $1,500 paid on the first pay period after the officer successfully completes field officer training.
- $2,000 paid on the first pay period after the officer successfully completes the one-year probationary period.
Please note that the Hiring Incentive Agreement does not guarantee continued employment, and voluntary termination may require repayment.
Law Enforcement Training Reimbursement Agreement
For those seeking to become a certified Police Officer with the City of Bellmead, our Law Enforcement Training Reimbursement Agreement offers a pathway to professional development. Here are the key points:
- The City covers expenses for approved law enforcement training, including tuition, uniforms, supplies, and more.
- The Employee reimburses the City for training costs if certain conditions are not met.
- The Employee commits to working as a full-time police officer for at least two years.
- Reimbursement percentages vary based on the timing and reason for termination.
- After two years of service, the amount owed for training costs becomes zero.
- Monthly repayment schedules are established based on the category of reimbursement.
- Reimbursement may be taken from the final check or paid in consecutive monthly payments.
- In the event of the Employee's death or permanent disability, the commitment for reimbursement is voided.
- The agreement is subject to amendment or cancellation by mutual agreement.
- Employment with the City is at-will, and the agreement is governed by Texas laws.
