Bellmead Police Department Solves 2017 Hit-and-Run Case
The Bellmead Police Department is announcing a significant breakthrough in the tragic hit-and-run case that took the life of Jana McElyea in 2017. Detectives received critical information early in 2024, which played a pivotal role in bringing this case to resolution. After years of dedicated investigation and invaluable community support, the individual responsible, Omar Dominguez Martinez, was located and taken into custody.
Through the tireless efforts of our Criminal Investigations Division and the collaboration of concerned citizens, additional information came to light, leading investigators to Martinez. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from our community and the relentless dedication of our officers in seeking justice for Jana and her loved ones.
