On November 1, 2023 around 09:30 hrs, Bellmead officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North IH 35, HEB, concerning an assault that occurred inside the business. Upon officers’ arrival, they learned that Cassandra Carter (35 years-of-age) and Jonnie Lott (65 years-of-age) were inside the store and got into a verbal argument over money. Lot, who was on a mobility scooter, was then assaulted by Carter. Video footage from the business assisted with confirming the incident. Carter was arrested and booked into McLennan County Jail for injury to the elderly/disabled person which is a Felony of the 3rd degree.
