Celebrating National Preservation Month: Bellmead Businesses Honored with Texas Treasure Business Award

In celebration of National Preservation Month, the City of Bellmead is proud to announce that three local businesses have been recognized with the Texas Treasure Business Award (TTBA) for their longstanding service and significant historical contributions to the community.

Initiated by the Texas Historical Commission in 2005, the TTBA program acknowledges businesses that have not only thrived over the years but also played a crucial role in maintaining the historical character of Texas communities. This year, the following Bellmead businesses are celebrated:

  • Bellmead Funeral Home – Established in 1969, Bellmead Funeral Home has served as a significant part of the community's history, providing compassionate care for generations of Bellmead families.
  • Bellmead Radiator Shop, Inc. – Opened in 1963, this shop has been indispensable to the automotive needs of Bellmead, illustrating the evolution of automotive care through decades.
  • Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse – Since 1953, Lone Star Tavern and Steakhouse has offered a place for community gathering and celebration, making it more than just a restaurant, but a historic site where countless memories have been made.

“As we celebrate National Preservation Month, we are reminded of the vital role these businesses play not only in our economy but also in preserving the rich tapestry of our community’s history,” said [Name of City Official], [Position]. “These awards are a testament to the enduring spirit and the cultural significance of our longstanding local businesses.”

The TTBA is a hallmark of Texas’ dedication to recognizing entities that contribute to the historical and cultural fabric of the state. More than 500 businesses have been honored since the program’s inception, ranging from small-town gems to large corporations.

Bellmead is committed to celebrating and preserving its unique heritage and acknowledges the contributions of its business community in achieving this goal.
